Timing Is Everything When Opportunity Is Knocking

Opportunity KnocksTiming Is Everything

Have you ever wondered why some people always seem to be in the right place at the right time?  It seems like they always have the right timing.  Ever wonder how you can have the right timing too?

The Formula For Success

Success = Preparation + Opportunity.  So what does that mean?  If you have done your preparation and your “due diligence” while waiting for an opportunity, you will be ready to seize the opportunity once it is “knocking” on your door.  If you are prepared, you will be able to recognize the opportunity and take full advantage of the situation.  People who constantly prepare for success will always obtain success.

The Big Mo (Momentum)

When you or your business start to have momentum going, everything will go “your way”.  John Maxwell says “Momentum is a leader’s best friend.  When you have momentum going for you, everything is exaggerated in positive ways.”  We want to accelerate our efforts during times of momentum because exponential growth is inevitable.  Everyone is having success and having a lot of fun!   😆   John also says “enjoy the momentum, but do not take it for granted.  Ride it as long and as far as you can.  Resist the temptation to get comfortable, this will cause you to lose your momentum and miss your potential.”

I made this mistake many years ago. 😥   We had momentum, we had achieved a certain amount of success, and then I got comfortable.  Please do not do what I did. 😳  It’s so much easier to keep momentum going than to try to build it again.  Therefore, follow John Maxwell’s advice and build momentum, then sustain momentum!  Everything will keep on growing and growing!  You will seize the opportunity and never miss your potential!

Here’s a video by John Maxwell on The Big Mo, Priorities, & Sacrifice:

Learn To Prioritize

When momentum starts to build, it is very important to put our time and effort into the few things which will be the most effective.  Initially, we may feel overwhelmed because we will have more to do, and we will be responsible for more results.  It’s all a part of the learning to “BEcome more valuable to the marketplace” as Jim Rohn told us.  We soon learn, it is not very difficult when you apply the pareto principle to everything you do.

Sacrifice

John Maxwell says “You have to give up to go up“.  My mentors have always said “to whom much is given, much is expected“.   A leader adds value to others and is always willing to sacrifice for the greater good.

Know When Opportunity Is Knocking

Timing is very crucial when seizing an opportunity.  Knowing when to sacrifice and prioritize can make all the difference in the world.  Having successful mentors has always helped me to know when timing was important.  Also, “hanging around” people who are living the kind of life I want to live has expanded our world in ways which were unimaginable before. 😆

What are your thoughts about timing and momentum?  Have you experienced huge momentum?  What have you learned from that experience?  We would love to hear your comments below.
