Is Getting a Job in the 21st Century a Scam?

ScamAlert6_690x690Working 40 Hours a Week for 40 Years – Security or Scam?

I recently saw this posted thanks to Art Jonak:

Beware of This Scam:
It’s a program where you work your tail off for someone else for 40 hours a week, for 40 years, get a $40 gold watch and then try to live on 40% of what you couldn’t live on while you were working 40 hours a week. (aka “a job”).  It has been known to leave people Just Over Broke after participating for 40 or more years, yet millions of people fall for it everyday.  😯

Rich Dad Scam #2: Get a Job

Robert Kiyosaki recently released his “8 Financial Scams Disguised As Wisdom” and one of the scams he talks about is Get A Job”.  In the article, he says “My rich dad understood that the sentiment, “Get a job,” was a scam. Rather than get a job, he made jobs.  Rather than work for someone else, he worked for himself.  Rather than pay high taxes, he used the tax code to get rich.  The reason Get a Job is a Rich Dad Scam is because it makes you poorer, especially if you have a high paying job, because you pay the most in taxes.”

A job is the highest risk profession you can have.” ~Tom Wheelwright, CPA & Rich Dad Advisor

School Didn’t Talk About Becoming An Entrepreneur

As I read the funny but true “Scam Alert” post, and studied Robert Kiyosaki’s article on the “8 Financial Scams”, I realized that everything they’re saying is true today.  School = success is Rich Dad’s Scam #1.  In America, we all “go to school” to “get a safe, secure, job”, however, in the 21st century, the job is far from being safe and secure.

The future belongs to the risk takers, not the security seekers. The more you seek security, the less of it you will have, and the more you pursue opportunity, the more security you will achieve.”  –Brian Tracy

Trust Your Intuition (“Gut” Feelings)

I started to feel this in 1995 as I spent all my time at my job, and neglected time with my son.  I started to feel like I was doing the wrong thing, and if I didn’t make a change, I would lose my relationship with my son.  😥  I am so grateful I found a home business which taught me how to become an entrepreneur.  It is truly the “Business of the 21st Century”, as Robert Kiyosaki says, and it teaches anyone who is willing to learn, and willing to work, how to become a global entrepreneur.

Times Are Changing Fast

Shocking huh?  😯  Seth Godin says “we are at the end of the Industrial Age, and most people are totally unprepared for the changes which will take place”.  If you would like to explore the idea of becoming an entrepreneur in a home business, click on the “work with Kellie” page.

And the beautiful thing is, we were all designed with a unique gift and message to bring to the world. I worked in corporate America for 30 years and was totally burnt out. So happy I made the switch to being an entrepreneur. Great article Kellie.

The most luscious thing about the times we live in, is that on the internet, kids can read about and even meet people like you, Ms Kellie, who are living proof that getting a job isn’t the only path to success and that in fact, it’s the path least likely to succeed.

Schools were originally set up to create and groom employees to be cogs in the giant wheels of the industrial revolution. We need to change the paradigm to groom our kids for what we need now … entrepreneurs with bright ideas and hope for the planet.

    Aloha dear Jacqui!

The internet and social media is “Simply The Best”!! I would have never met you and so many wonderful friends without it! It’s amazing how many friends and relationships we have made due to social media & the internet.

Thank you for your kind comments Jacqui! You are truly a gift to the world! Much love 🙂

This is a great post, and I totally agree with the comments above (y)
especially Jacqueline Gates “a job isn’t the only path to success …. what we need now … Entrepreneurs with bright ideas and hope for the planet”

It just echoes my beliefs especially since reading Rich Dad Poor Dad from Robert Kiyosaki (and his other books and especially his wife Kim’s book) … and more importantly this then lead to me meeting you via Twitter Kellie 🙂 … and appreciating our shared vision <3

Thank you Kellie and much Aloha <3
