Is a Home Business After 50 Legit? 6 Things to Check First

Aloha! ๐ŸŒบ

If you’re over 50 and thinking about creating additional income from home, you may be wondering:

“How do I know what’s legitimate… and what could be a scam?”

That’s a GOOD question.

When I was looking for a home-based business on the side, there was no internet, and it was really hard to research. Today we’re so fortunate, because you can see everything. I’m Kellie from beautiful Hawaii, and I’ve been doing this for 31 years, so let me share what I’ve learned about how to check.

In this video, I share some of the red flags and green flags I look for when evaluating a home-based business, plus how AI can help you research opportunities and ask better questions.

๐Ÿšฉ The Red Flags I Watch For

Pressure to decide now. The price is good for today only, that kind of thing. A real opportunity doesn’t just disappear. There should be time.

Any promise of money quick. There’s no such thing. I’ve been doing this for 31 years, and just like everything else, you learn and build up a skill, no different from when we all first started a job. It took a little while, and then we got better at it. But it took time.

No real product, and no real person to talk to. It can be a service, but make sure you can talk to a real person. If you are serious, the person on the other side will take you seriously, and will be willing to talk to you directly.

โœ… The Green Flags That Matter

You can research the company. How long have they been in business? Is it for real? Good old Google still works like crazy, and you should be able to find out about the company and the person.

The numbers are open. You should be able to get revenue numbers on the company, and don’t be afraid to ask the person who would be assisting you. They should be open to that.

There’s a real person beside you. That’s what saved me in our business. I’ve always had a mentor, I still do, and I have coaches for skills. I have so many questions, and I need a real person to ask.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Your AI Homework

Here’s a little homework. Just say it and talk, don’t type. Tell your AI: research this business, and name the business. What should I verify? What are the red flags and the green flags? And what questions should I ask before I join?

And I did this myself, just recently, on my own company, just to see what would happen. I did it with three AIs, and I got three different answers! So in this way, I still think Google is the best, because you can look at it yourself and decide if that’s the information you want.

AI can be a great research partner, but don’t blindly trust it. Verify the facts, look at the company’s track record, understand the numbers, and talk to a real person.

You don’t have to change your whole life today. Sometimes the first step is simply learning how to make a better, safer decision. โค๏ธ
