During the beginning of my home based network marketing business career, I was taught to “Work Harder On Yourself, Than You Do On Your Job” by Jim Rohn. I really didn’t understand what that meant until I started to study books, tapes, CDs, and DVDs on Personal Development.
Laws Of The Universe
Once I started to educate myself on a daily basis, I was taught that there were laws of the Universe which we were not taught in school. All successful people learned to follow and abide by these laws. I did not know how to do that until my mentors taught me step-by-step.
The Secret
One of the best movies which educated us on one of those laws was the movie, “The Secret”. It explained the Law Of Attraction in a movie format which was very easy to understand. It starred many personal development coaches like Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, Michael Beckwith, John Assaraf, Bob Doyle, Mike Dooley, Bill Harris, John Demartini, Fred Alan Wolf, Lisa Nichols, Denis Waitley, James Ray, Joe Vitale, Marci Shimoff, Neale Donald Walsch, Marie Diamond, and others. They all had the same message. The Law Of Attraction works like a magnet and we attract things and people in our life which match our thoughts and feelings. Wow! So if we are thinking negative thoughts, we attract negative circumstances in our life. So if we are thinking positive thoughts, we attract positive circumstances in our life.
I started to apply the Universal Laws and studied personal development each and everyday. It changed my life forever! And each day I do my best to get a little bit better everyday!
Here is the first 20 minutes of the Secret:

Thank you for introducing the “Secret.” In the past, I often wondered why I experienced the same challenges over and over again. I was expecting different results; however, still thinking the same and not willing to make changes to my behavior. I even believed that I was not responsible and sometimes it was easier to believe it was someone else’s fault. Today I take full responsibility and am learning to implement these “laws,” and am seeing changes in my life.
I want to thank you again for sharing this information. I am grateful to have an opportunity to learn from people like you who are living the type of lifestyle that I dream of.

Thank you Gigi for your heartfelt comments. I am so happy you realized you were doing the same things and thinking the same things and yet expecting different results. I am proud of you for taking full responsibility to change your life. Jim Rohn famous saying is so very true “For Things To Change, I Have To Change.” Congratulations on your decision to change.:)
You WILL be very successful! 🙂

Incredible post Kellie! When I was younger, my mom always used to say “Think Positive”. I grew up hearing those words all the time. Now what did that mean? When I think back I remember getting things I wanted because I focused on it. Today because of being introduced to “The Secret” I understand we create our reality whether great or not that great. I love the quote “For Things To Change, I Have To Change” (by Jim Rohn). Each and every day I strive to get better!

Hi Kellie,
That was a really powerful video. During it I went over to Secret tv and ordered a copy of the physical DVD. I so want to watch it now but definitely would like to be able to show it to others as well.
This post is a little over a year old but, recently I wrote a small blog post on attraction and it prompted me to do a little digging. (I know, a bit in reverse there, eh?)
And it’s really brought back things that I studied as a child. My parents never allowed us to say, “I can’t.” In a literal sense, they didn’t allow it.
And that really governed much of my life. I began studying religion and philosophy, began enjoying meditation and it always amazed me at how good I felt.
It always seemed like everything I wanted came to me. Good just followed me around.
But of course I got older. A bit more cynical. And though I always feel happy, in many ways I’ve lost that secret that I was immersed in and discovering as a child.
Personal development and positive thinking/feeling is still a big part of my life but, that video really just flung me back and.. well, it has hit me right where I needed to be hit.
Anyway, enough chatter. I guess all of this is to say thank you for showing that to me. Have a great day! 🙂

The Secret is a great introduction to the Law of Attraction, but it really just kind of skims the surface. There are a ton of books that get into a lot more detail and really show you how to use it.
A few of my favorites are The Field by Lynne McTaggart, The Answer by John Assaraf and Murray Smith, The Law Of Attraction by Esther and Jerry Hicks and Law of Attraction: The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don’t by Michael Losier.
