What Is Enlightenment?

So, what is Enlightenment and why is everyone talking about awakening?  To define it, we must start at the beginning of time…  In the beginning, there was nothing.  When the Universe was created there was a vacuum or a “void”.  There was no time, no space, no thought…no thing.  Then about 14 billion years ago, there was an impulse to “Become”.   This is what science calls “The Big Bang”.  Then light and energy became matter, which then gave birth to life.  Finally through human beings, Consciousness had the capacity to be aware of itself.  This was very significant!

Who Am I?

Have you ever asked yourself the question “Who Am I”?  Well now it can be answered because we are not the separate individual “Ego”, we are part of this cosmic process who has become aware of itself.  Andrew Cohen explains “Evolutionary Enlightenment” as a new understanding of spiritual awakening.  He believes you must transform yourself to change the world.  Hmmm…doesn’t that sound like Gandhi, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” 😉   Andrew says our goal is to get out of the “small dream state” of the ego who thinks it is separate, and begin to co-participate in the conscious Universe with, and as the very force that created it.  Then you will recognize “who you really are and why you are here”.  That’s your “awakening”! 😯

What Is Consciousness?

So now you’re probably saying “what is consciousness?” 🙄  Well, remember the movie “The Matrix” and the scene where Neo had the choice to  take the red pill or the blue pill?  The red pill offered him the chance to “wake up” and see the truth, while the blue pill would leave him “asleep” going back to his unconscious life (ego’s life).

Well Known Philosophers, Scientists, Personal Development Coaches, Actors Are Saying...

Now that you are aware of some of the “language”, I would like to show you some very popular and well known philosophers, scientists, personal development and spiritual coaches, actors, etc. who are speaking about consciousness, waking up, the “now”, the law of attraction, etc.  They are David Icke, Deepak Chopra, John Hegelin PhD, Eckhart Tolle, Wayne Dyer, Max Planck (one of the greatest scientist), Jim Carrey, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, and Bill Hicks. As you listen, you will start to hear similarities with what everyone is saying.  I’ve written some quotes here, so you can see them in writing also.

Wayne Dyer quotes Max Plank saying:

“There is no matter as such.  All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together.  We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind.  The mind is the matrix of all matter.”–Max Planck

“We are not in the physical world, the physical world is in us.”—Deepak Chopra

“It’s a universal ocean, an ocean of pure potentiality.  We call it the Unified Field, the super-string field and that’s what we are made of.”–John Hegelin

“The field of spirit, the field of soul is the field of pure potentiality.  Your mind thinks in limitations, but your spirit is infinite, unbounded, eternal. Whatever consciousness can imagine it can accomplish and more.”–Deepak Chopra

The world is like a ride at an amusement park and when you choose to go on it, you think it’s real because that’s how powerful your minds are.  The ride goes up an down and around and around.  It has thrills & chills and it’s very brightly colored and it’s very loud and it’s fun for a while.  Some people are on the ride for a long time.  It doesn’t matter cause it’s just a ride and we can change it any time you want.  The choice is between fear and love.  The eyes of love sees all of us as one.–Bill Hicks

    This is so fascinating. I had let myself slip away from practicing these principles for a long time. Never stopped believing their truth or knowing them, just wasn’t using them. I have begun the road back and am seeing so much difference. (Wonder why we don’t always do what we know will be best for us?) Posts like this really help. They resonate with the way I want to think and be and I appreciate your reminders,

    This is interesting information you shared. I enjoy learning about different outlooks on spirituality. Personally, I embrace the creation approach rather than the Big Bang theory. I do however, strongly believe in the principles associated with the Law of Attraction and the Spiritual Awakening that can come through Jesus. 🙂

  9. I feel I’ve always resonated with this fascinating Truth. Interesting, I was studying David Icke some years back when I went to visit my mom in Vegas. I met this wonderful old soul who appeared as a young man and introduced me to David Icke’s teaching. I was fascinated. At that time I was also reading some pretty heavy duty books like “Busting Loose From the Money Game” with Robert Scheinfeld. I was always interested in the depths of spirituality and it makes me feel more comfortable being “out there” since out there is so mainstream now. This is a good call Kellie. Some get it now and some don’t and it’s okay…I see it now…People saying “I remember.” There is a resonance to Truth that is within all of us, as these wise teachers are saying. You can’t explain it, you just “feel” it.
